Welcome to Third Grade Music!

We are Music explorers.

• All students will need a music journal notebook for class.
• We will explore simple and complex rhythmic meters.
• We will explore tempo and dynamics.
• We will explore rhythms and meters.
• We will explore the classical piece "The Sorcerer's Apprentice".
• We will learn that music can tell a story.
• We will explore different musical cultures with Carnegie Hall Musical Explorers.
• Third Grade will explore Son Jarocho, Sicilian Folk, and Calypso Music.

  In the Month of January, we will begin our Recorder Karate Unit in music class. Third grade will begin on January 25th.
  I would like to have you purchase a recorder for your child for the class.
