School Dress Code

Flynn & O’Hara is our official school uniform supplier. The store closest to our school is located in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center in Broomall. Their telephone number is 610-259-3115. Our school also has a uniform exchange with used uniform pieces, run by our parent, Megan Walsh-Boyle. Kindergarten: Kindergarten students wear the gym uniform with the Saint Andrew golf shirt every day.
On gym day, the kindergarten students wear the gray t-shirt with the cardinal logo

Girls: Grades 1 to 4:
All girls wear the plaid jumper and white, peter pan collared blouse.
Socks: Prescott red knee socks. Black, Prescott red or white tights in cold weather.
Sweater: Prescott red cardigan with school logo, if a sweater is desired.

Girls: Grades 5 to 8:
All girls wear the plaid kilt and white button-down collar blouse. Kilts rolled at the waist will be considered a violation. Skirts may be no shorter than 2” above the knee.
Socks: Prescott red knee socks. Black, Prescott red or white tights in cold weather.
Sweater: Prescott red crewneck with school logo.

Boys: Grades 1 to 8:
All boys should wear gray dress slacks with a belt and a white dress shirt.
Tie: uniform tie.
Sweater: Prescott red, v-neck, sleeveless vest or long-sleeve sweater with the school logo
Socks: dress or sweat socks are permitted, below the ankle socks are not.

Shoes:
All students in grades 1 to 8 must wear a lace-up style shoe. Shoes may be black, brown or blue and must have a non-marking sole. Shoes must have no more than a 1-inch heel. Sneakers may only be worn with the gym uniform. When the weather necessitates the wearing of boots, these must be changed at school before class.

Special Notes:

• In warmer months, an embroidered golf shirt may be worn instead of dress shirt/blouse and sweater
• Shirts and blouses must be tucked in at all times. The waistband should rest just above the hips. Boys must wear a belt.
• Pierced ears (girls only): one pair of post earrings must be very small. For safety reasons, no dangling earrings will be permitted. If allergies prevent the wearing of posts, then the choice is for no earrings. No jewelry may be worn on gym day.
• Students are not permitted to wear make-up of any kind. Colored nail polish and fake nails are not permitted.
• Hair must be well-groomed and neat, with no extreme styles. Boys’ hair must be cut above the collar.

Gym Uniform:
All students, grades K to 8: Saint Andrew School gym suit and sneakers must be worn on scheduled P. E. day.
Winter gym uniform consists of sweatshirt over SAS t-shirt and sweatpants. Summer gym uniform is SAS t-shirt and shorts. See calendar for dates governing uniform choice. No jewelry may be worn on gym day. Only the Saint Andrew logo may be worn.
