In addition to the regular music curriculum, Saint Andrew School offers individual and small group lessons on a variety of musical instruments. Musicians perform twice a year for the student body and their families at our annual Christmas Concert in December and the Spring Concert in May.
Mrs. Susan Torrie offers private lesson for piano, guitar, and ukulele to students in all grades. Contact Mrs. Torrie for rates and to schedule your child's lessons.
Mr. Peter Rowley provides group lessons on a variety of band instruments to children in grades 3 through 8. Through Northeastern Music Programs, instruments are available to rent and the company will fix any instrument that needs repair. Information on band music lessons will be sent home with interested students in September. The Saint Andrew School Band was rated exemplary in 2015, 2016 and 2018 at the National Catholic Band Competition held at Villanova University.
Saint Andrew School students in grades 5 through 8 have the opportunity to share their talents for acting, singing, and dancing on stage by participating in the annual school show. The show also provides experience for future stagehands in crafting sets, moving scenery, and working backstage. SAS's production of MTI's Broadway Junior Revue: Raise Your Voice brought down the house in 2024! Other past productions include Disney's Aladdin Jr. (2023), Shrek the Musical Jr. (2022), Disney's High School Musical Jr. (2020), Disney's Cinderella Kids (2019), Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. (2018), Disney's The Lion King Jr. (2016), and Honk! Jr. (2015).
