Vocabulary Workshop: Unit 9B- test on Friday, 2/15
Students will follow the same homework procedure with each unit. To help with time management, students may choose to do an additional night's homework if they desire, but they are not allowed to do more than that. If there is a shorter week, the same schedule will stay in place but the days it needs to be completed will change. ALL WRITTEN WORK IS TO BE DONE NEATLY AND IN CURSIVE. (Students who are not in school due to absence are still responsible for knowing the homework routine and getting the work completed in its entirety).
Monday - write and highlight vocabulary word, write the part(s) of speech in parentheses and definition
Tuesday - write one synonym and one antonym for each of the ten words - use an online or hard copy thesaurus
Wednesday - write words in syllables with stress mark three times each; study for the test on Friday
Thursday - write Vocab works in sixth-grade sentences using capitalization and correct punctuation
Reading - students should be reading a book of their choice for a minimum of 20 minutes a night

-Writing prompts need to be in complete sentences with proper capitalization, punctuation, sentence structure and in paragraph form (at least five sentences). PROOFREAD before turning into the classroom
Public Speaking: Students will each be given a particular paragraph from MLK Jr.'s 'I Have A Dream' speech. Students will need to study and memorize their speaking part. Due date is not availabe yet.
