Volunteer Requirements for the 2016-2017 school year
Pennsylvania State legislature has made sweeping changes in the law and how it affects the safe environment program. The Archdiocese has adopted those changes.
Every Saint Andrew School and Parish volunteer who may have any possible contact with or responsibility for children must comply with these laws. There are no exceptions, nor is there a provisional status. All clearances and training must be completed prior to working with children.
Volunteers continue to be a very important part of our Saint Andrew School, CCD, and CYO and help make our parish great. We appreciate everything our volunteers do and keep you in our prayers.
Everyone needs to complete a volunteer application and forward it to the SE Coordinator at the School. Any currently dated state requirements (within the past 5 years) and training verifications should accompany the volunteer application, unless already on file.
At the present time the fees for the PA State Police Criminal Record Check and the PA Child Abuse History Clearance have been waived. To access the links for the online clearances go to www.childyouthprotection.org. Pull down on Staff and Volunteers in the menu bar then click on Checks and Clearances. This will bring you to the page that fully explains the requirements. Volunteers will need to complete and submit the application online themselves and then forward the documents to the SE Coordinator at the main office of Saint Andrew School. In order to do this you will need to go to childyouthprotection.org. Once at the site rest the cursor on Staff and Volunteers in the top menu bar; click on Checks and Clearances. Once that page opens please ignore the Forms applications on the upper right. Scroll down the page until you see:

This is simply the username you choose to use. Complete the online application as a volunteer. There is no charge for volunteers. When all is complete click on submit. You will receive an email from the state saying you have successfully completed the application for child abuse clearance. When your form is ready, please print a copy and return it to me at the main office of school. FBI checks are necessary for volunteers who have not lived in PA for the last ten years. If this does not apply to you, then you need only complete the Disclosure Statement for Volunteers.
(This training is completed online in three 20-minute modules. Go to www.childyouthprotection.org
and click on "Training Institute." Upon successful completion of the quiz, you will be emailed a
Certificate of Completion. Forward one copy to me; keep one for your personal file.
